Getting Ready For The Holidays

HUGE SHOP UPDATE!

The past two days have been keeping me very busy, with shop related things. I've been creating new jewelry, photographing new jewelry, advertising new jewelry, and more! I am currently on a jewelry overload! My shop has had about 15 new pieces added too it the past two days and hopefully I will be able to crank out just a little more over the remainder of the weekend.

Many of my new pieces are also very affordable with the majority being priced under $20.00! I'm hopping I will get a decent amount of sales for the holiday. I'm really looking forward to see what happens with my Black Friday - Cyber Monday Sale!

Hopefully Dexter will be a good little puppy the rest of the weekend like he was today! I don't need anymore chewed up power cords or lost earrings! Yesterday I was photographing outside on my deck and came in to grab something I had forgot, when I went back out a earring and mysteriously gone missing.

If you haven't noticed, the newest owl pieces are my favorites.

Getting Ready For Holiday Sales!

 

That would be my adorable little puppy Dexter. Dexter decided the other day that he was going to use my camera cord as his new chew toy. Because of this I have been unable to update my shop with all my newest designs. Hopefully I should be receiving my new one soon and I won't have any problems with it. 

I just signed up for the etsy bloggers 2010 Holiday Sale! I'm excited to be taking part in this, this year. The sale will be featuring numerous shops from the etsy bloggers team and will last November 26th - November 29th! New Geometric Designs

My Etsy Shop has been updated with 8 new geometric inspired designs. All the new designs are very simple, modern and bold. They each make a statement in there own unique way. Be sure to check them out.

Earlier today prior to photographing all the new jewelry, I spent some time photographing our two dogs (DJ & Dexter) as well as some of the leaves and all the wonderful colors. I put together a stop motion video of all of the pictures. I really wish I had a Digitial SLR camera, this would of turned out so much better... I will have one, one day. Regardless of my crappy camera I did have fun, just wish it saved as better quality.

Meet our newest addition to the family Dexter.

We adopted him from the Michigan Humane Society in Detroit. Him and his sister were left in a box in their lobby at around two weeks old. We are not 100% positive on what breed he is, although they suspect he is a pitbull / terrier mix.

I like to call him our mystery puppy, since we aren't for sure on exactly how big he is going to end up. He just turned 6 weeks old yesterday.

THIS WEEKS FRIDAY FIVE THEME: PENGUINS

While I was sitting at my desk thinking of what my very first friday five should be, in walks my cat meowing. He walks into the room, comes over to me and drops his little penguin toy we bought him for christmas right next to me. Then he proceeds to sit down and stare at me wanting to play. So as I picked up his toy to throw it I thought to myself. "Hmmm, penguins would make an interesting toy." Then as I throw the toy, Tigger remained sitting next to me and just glanced at where the toy was. That's a cat for you, although sometimes he will actually run after it and bring it back... However, those times are few and far between. Now on to this weeks Friday five...

In other shop news, I also had my first official sale today! I was so excited I packaged it up and shipped it out before going into work.

New Camera

I went to take photographs of my jewelry for my etsy shop, and came to the realization of just how crappy my Kodak point and shoot was. I couldn't get a decent shot of anything, the close up setting on that camera just wouldn't work for my needs. So I came upstairs and started doing some research on cameras, after reading reviews, looking at specs and sample pictures I decided on the Canon PowerShot A590 IS.

It was in the exact price range I was hoping for and I am 100% satisfied with my choice. I took some test pictures as soon as I got home and I instantly fell in love with it. While it isn't a digital SLR like I have been wanting for ages, it will definitely suit my needs for the time being.

Picture of my cat Tigger, you can view the larger version here at Flickr. Considering this is one of the cheaper digital cameras available right now I was highly impressed with the detail of the pictures. Definitely a great camera, and a steal at the price.

Now I can hopefully have my shop stocked by sometime next week.
