Did You Know?

1). Did you know that March is:

* Irish American Month
* Music in Our Schools Month
* National Craft Month
* National Frozen Food Month
* National Irish American Heritage Month- designated by Congress in 1995.
* National Nutrition Month
* National Peanut Month
* National Women's History Month
* Poetry Month
* Red Cross Month
* Social Workers Month

Which of these means the most to you, why, and how do you celebrate/remember?

To Add to this list March is also, National Nutrition Month, National Kidney Months, National Youth Art Month, National Caffeine Awareness Month, National Flour Month, National Sauce Month, National Noodle Month, Foot Health Month, Greek-American Heritage Month, Steroid Abuse Prevention Month, Poison Prevention Awareness Month, National Umbrella Month, National Optimism Month, National Athletic Training Month, National Childrens Craft Day Month, National Eye Donor Month, Save Your Vision Month, Sports Eye Safety Month & Patients Safety Awareness Month

Who knew that March was so many things? I certainly didn't, makes you wonder what all the months consist of you know? It's amazing that we have national months for things like frozen food, umbrellas, foot health, noodles and sauce to name a few. I can't really say any of these really mean that much to me because I didn't even know most of them existed. I did know about national craft month as well as a few others but nothing I really remembered or participated in.

I definitely like the idea of most of some of these as they hold a purpose. I guess National Craft month would mean the most to me, as it's the only one I really knew about. It's nice to know their is a month dedicated to all the crafters who put so much hard work in what they do. I've heard of many people vowing to do a different craft everyday of the month, which is awesome. Personally I just don't have the time every day to sit down and do this, although it would most certainly be a challenge.

Shop Update

I spent St. Patricks Day making a few new creations, I've fallen in love with all of these from this batch. They are each a little different from my previous necklaces. I absolutely love the new beach inspired one, it's definitely one of my favorite pieces.

I hope everyone had a lovely St. Patricks Day! We had beautiful weather and I went out at night to celebrate my birthday (Which is the following day). Definitely had some fun this St. Patricks Day!

1 Month Anniversary

Today marks my "1 Month Anniversary" for my etsy shop.

My One Month Stats
  • SALES: 5

  • SHOP HEARTS: 50

  • CURRENT ITEM HEARTS: 51

  • GIFT GUIDES: 1 (St. Patrick's Day)

  • TREASURIES THAT I HAVE BEEN IN: 1 (That I am aware of)

  • SHOP VISITS: 888 (Based on Google Analytic's)

  • FRONT PAGE: 0

I must say I am quite happy with my 1 Month Statistics. I wasn't really expecting to many sales in my first month as jewelry is the most crowded area of etsy (after supplies of course). I've heard many people say they didn't receive any sales until after their first or second month. I was even more thrilled to be put into one of the gift guides, even though that didn't lead to a sale of the specific item listed. Hopefully I can continue this trend with growing sales, and visits and don't take a turn in the opposite direction.

I've also added 4 new items to my shop today, here's a preview of the new items.

Mon nom est amour (My Name Is Love)

You can find these items and more currently in my shop, candycrack.etsy.com.

Ramblings

Sorry for the lack of activity as of late everyone. March is always a very hectic Month for me to do numerous family birthdays and other things that are going on. This year has even been more chaotic then others as of late. Hopefully after next week when things start going back to normal I will be back on track. I'm going to try my best to be more active next week, but in all reality it probably won't be until the following week.

BLOG GOALS.
2- 4 Post A Week. - I figure it is best to start small.

Post Subjects - Keep with a variety, I want to make sure I keep my post varied and interesting.

Comment More - I've been slacking not only on my own, but following and commenting on others as well. Something I definitely want to change.

Giveaway - I want to try my hand at a giveaway in the near future. I have heard many good things about them, and want to see for myself how it works out.

These are my goals for the blog for the upcoming month. I am going to try my hardest to make sure I stick to them, and then probably expand on them in due time. Time for me to go create some new jewelry pieces, while I have some spare time tonight. Stay tuned for the Friday Five tomorrow.

It's All About The Words

I've had this treasury sitting in my poster sketch for awhile now. This morning very randomly I checked in on treasury rest it was at 222 exactly so I wanted the 1 minute for it to drop below and squeezed one in. That's the first time I was able to make one so quick normally I'm stuck waiting a few hours for the spots to open up.

You can view the treasury here.

The Friday Five: Spring Flowers

The weather is completely beautiful here today. It is currently it is 67 degrees, and sunny. Sadly this weather will not be lasting long, we probably won't see another day like this for at least another two weeks or so. However it is a more then welcomed taste of spring and what is coming.

I can't wait until we have this weather again daily.

So in honor of our lovely spring weather here today, our Friday Five theme is Spring Flowers.

Ideas For Blog Post

The blogging world can be quite the challenging place. I'm finding it more of a challenge to think up interesting topic's then I initially thought. I don't want to get stuck only witting about etsy and my shop. I'd like my blog to be a bit more personable and interesting, then strictly business. So while sitting here trying to think of some creative new topics to post about I figured why not post about not knowing what to post about.

I'm sure I can't be the only person who has trouble's thinking up topics to blog about. Hopefully this post will help others who may sometimes find themselves stuck and lacking idea's for what to blog about.

THEME DAYS
Theme days are a great way to make sure you always have some sort of content for your readers. Often time's these theme post can be what keeps people coming back to your blog. I currently have theme days for Monday & Fridays. My Monday theme's I have chosen to currently do bi-weekly. My Monday theme is "Monday Colors" for this theme I feature 8 items found on etsy in a rainbow of colors. Mondays are often boring and dull, so what better of a way to kick start the week then with some color. My Friday theme is "The Friday Five", each friday I pick a theme and feature 5 items from etsy sellers that relate to the chosen theme.

While currently my themes are strictly related to etsy this isn't always the case of themed post. Your theme days could be about anything you can imagine. Food Friday? How To Tuesday? Music Monday? The list goes on and on.

LIST
While this is something I have yet to do, my mind has already started thinking up ideas for list. Things such as "7 secrets to...", top 10 ways to...", "6 reasons why...", the options for where list can lead are endless. The best thing about this style of blogging is that a list can fit with any subject and you can often uncover some very interesting things.

ANSWER QUESTIONS
Often times people may leave questions for you on your blog post, or may ask questions about your shop. These questions can turn into great blog post and give your readers some insight to who you are and to what your shop is about. By tagging these questions with F.A.Q, you can also start a great resource for future readers, current readers and yourself.

While the above three options have sparked my interest the most the ideas for what to blog about are endless. However sometimes we just draw a blank and need a little inspiration. Here are some other great resources for tips on what you can blog about.

Hopefully this post will help some people out. If anyone has anything else they would like to add to this post for way's of thinking up ideas please feel free to leave a comment with them.

March Is Here & That Means Spring Is Near!

"March is a month of considerable frustration - it is so near spring and yet across a great deal
of the country the weather is still so violent and changeable that outdoor activity in our
yards seems light years away." - Thalassa Cruso

Oh how true this quote is. March is a great month filled with so many great things, St. Patricks Day, my birthday, various family birthdays, spring forward, spring solstice as well as national craft month (and various other month specific occasions).

However, it never seems to fail that on my birthday March 18th, we end up getting the last snow storm of the year. Their have only been perhaps two or three years I remember not seeing snow on my birthday. It's quite disappointing since my birthday is 3 days prior to the first day of spring. None the less this still means that spring is almost here and summer is right around the corner. Reagurdless of snow and coldness that March tends to start off with by the last few days we can normally see quite a change. Temperatures start to regulate themselves as it gets warmer and flowers start to bloom.

Then my brain instantly kicks into summer mode as I quickly forget about longing for spring. Summer is my favorite month, and Spring simply means that it is almost here. I'll soon be able to replace boots with flip-flops, and t-shirts with tank tops. Oh, how I look forward to days like these.

I also updated my Etsy Shop today with some lovely new spring pieces as well as a few traditional pieces. I also have 3 beautiful St. Patricks Day inspired key necklaces being featured at the moment.
